Exercise after Weightloss Surgery
We are all told how important exercise is after weightloss surgery, but how do you actually get started once you've healed?
The most important step is to have a professional look at your current abilities and your medical history before doing anything more than light exercise - always safety first!
Remember that exercise looks different to everyone! We can sometimes view exercise as exhausting and hard to keep up with. But by finding something you enjoy and that fuel's your wellbeing rather than drags you down can really help you shift mentally.
Keeping in mind that everyone has to start somewhere! Try:
~ starting with slow walking in short bursts
~ moving your arms in circles and your legs in an up and down motion
~ remember to respect your own limits, whilst still reaching out of your comfort zone.
There is a lot to learn about exercise after weightloss surgery, but taking things slow, working with a professional and fueling your body with the necessary nutrients so you don't become overwhelmed is a start.
