GROWTH & PROGRESS

For many years I focused my attention on the scales.  I was addicted.  An unhealthy addiction to the scales.  Something that has stemmed from my eating disorder. I used to weigh myself twice a day. If I saw I hadn't lost or worse still gained I'd be devastated and disheartened and this usually led to a binge.

Up until last year I had gained a healthy relationship with my scales. Meaning that the number on the scales did not define me. It does not mean that all my hard work goes to waste. A number on the scales is only an indication not a validation (thanks Lauren).

I want each and every one of you who reads this post who relates to start focusing on progress more than scales.  What might that be? Non-scale victories, a new PB, a new walking time, ANYTHING BUT THE SCALES!

Some of us tend to believe that progress in our journey is only determined by a loss or gain (depending on your goals) to be the main thing. Let me tell you folks, see these photos? I maybe 50kg lighter in the left but can you tell how much confidence I have gained?

Photos only show so much, but the inner progress of yourself and personal growth is worth so more and should be applauded for, regularly. πŸ™ŒπŸ»♥️πŸ‘πŸ»

I want you to do a little thinking and write below some wins/progress that you can think of since starting your journey.

Here are some of mine.

~ 6 months free from binge eating
~ Healthy relationship with food and exercise
~ My confidence has sky πŸš€ through the roof
~ Able to eat in front of strangers
~ Self love for myself
~ Putting myself 1st πŸ’―
